GermanZero wants to change this and is working with over 1,000 dedicated volunteers to make Germany climate-neutral by 2035. They are active at the federal level and are introducing concrete solutions into the political discourse with a 1.5-degree law package. They also ensure that everyone can advocate for climate neutrality in their own community through the LocalZero network. GermanZero relies on civic engagement from the middle of society and creates spaces for people who want to take effective action against the climate crisis themselves.

Why does GermanZero advocate for the 1.5-degree limit?

1.5°C symbolizes the threshold of global warming, beyond which the tipping points of the Earth system are in danger. If these points actually tip, climatic chain reactions are to be expected that will not only destroy distant coral reefs, permafrost soils or polar ice caps, but will endanger everything on which our lives are based. We are the last generation that can still contain the climate crisis. Germany's climate policy is currently heading for global warming well above 1.5 degrees. We are far from keeping the climate promise made in Paris. That's why GermanZero is getting involved in the climate movement, offering concrete solutions that can make Germany climate neutral by 2035.

How do you actively support a change in politics and the prioritization of climate protection?

How does your T-shirt contribute to a climate-friendly future?

Just like GermanZero, we have set ourselves the goal of fighting climate change. To do so, we focus on recycled and natural-based fibers as well as mono-materials to keep them in the cycle for as long as possible. In addition, we are committed to using less fossil fuels and more natural raw materials. Our TOO HOT TO IGNORE - Earth shirt is made of 50% recycled cotton and 50% lyocell (TENCEL™), the last obtained from the renewable resource wood. Using recycled cotton compared to virgin cotton creates less textile waste and also requires little to no water consumption during the recycling process. So that textile waste is not just a problem, but part of the solution.
